I was equally invested in the secondary characters who each had their own appeal. I loved seeing how they evolved as individuals and as a couple, and they balanced each other perfectly. I was invested in Axios and Eryx’s lives. But even with his emotionless exterior, he had a place in his heart for those he cared about. With his high sense of duty, he thrived in proving himself of his abilities. But to me… he was my home.Įryx was the complete opposite. The perfect makings of a soldier-a leader. He was disciplined and unwavering in his ability to strike a man down. To the rest of the world, he was stern and lacked compassion. He had a different outlook on life and a bleeding heart that often time landed himself in trouble. I could endure lashings, beatings, starvation, and extreme weather, but losing him would be the one thing to destroy me.Īxios was not a typical a typical Spartan. But as they bonded and feelings started to emerge, they have to decide if love was something worth pursuing in a life full of uncertainties.
